VERMICOMPOST

Vermicompost is a superior quality compost. Dark brown color, with a pleasant smell of forest mulch and freshly ground wet, non-toxic to plants and excellent soil improver. It's clean and soft to the touch and it´s great biostability prevents fermentation or putrefaction. Contains high enzymatic and bacterial load that increases the solubility of the nutrients being immediately assimilated by plant roots. On the other hand, prevents nutrients to be washed away by irrigation water, keeping them for more time on the ground.

LOMBRICOR takes special care in selecting the raw material and fully
comply with the various stages of production, obtaining a totally pure and high quality organic fertilizer, both for its wealth of NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium), it´s fine particle size (similar to coffee chaff) and high percentage of organic matter that allows retain moisture and transfer it when the plants need it.

Some features of wormcastings are:

      - Natural fertilizer, non toxic and 100% free of chemical additives.

      - PH = 7, which convert in reliable product for use with delicate plants.

      - Planting life. Inoculate and activate large amounts of beneficial microorganisms to the soil contributing to the maintenance and development of microbiolgy in the soil.

      - Not compact the soil, promotes root uptake and movement of the roots, reducing the frequency of watering.

      - Due to the high content of humic and fulvic acids, improves soil chemical characteristics.

The vermicompost provides benefits in three aspects: physical, chemical and biological.


Physical:

- Elimination of organic urban wastes, because the worms turns these hazardous waste into humus, a serious problem is convert in the richest organic fertilizer. The mechanical process of anaerobic or aerobic fermentation of organic matter in the urban solid wastes gets a product, compost, which can be defined as a set of stable organic remains, dark brown, and characteristically unpleasant odor, which contains material and organic nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron, and other trace elements necessary for biological functions of plants, along with a large amount of inorganic matter from an inevitable mix in the original plastic trash remains, glass and others. Once the worms are introduced and controlled in this compost is achieved after several months of process a totally neutral humus. After separation of inorganic residues contained in the primordial compost allows us to obtain a humus with a texture like that of the organic manures. However, this humus should not be used on farms destined for human consumption, but is suitable for use in the ornamentation of gardens and public parks, golf fileds, etc.

- Combat desertification. Improves the structure of poor soils, contributing to its stability, compacted sandy soils, and disruption the compacted soils . It also protects against erosion by increased water retention, root growth promoting, increasing from 5 to 30% water-holding capacity, which results in less frequent watering providing greater resistance to drought . Essential  feature to combat water loss that is currently suffering from climate change and saving of water. This is extremely important not only in the development of crops but also in other activities such as maintenance of golf fields, where the consumption of water for irrigation is high.

- Increase the capacity to retain nutrients of soil, or what is the same, increase soil fertility.

- Improves soil porosity, facilitating aeration and root breathing.

- Improves farm tasks by increasing the soft of soil.

- It increases infiltration and soil permeability.

Chemicals:


- It increases the cation exchange capacity of the soil, resulting in better use of existing nutrients or provided in fertilizing.
- Add nutrients to plants. Main elements as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium (NPK). Trace elements such as iron, manganese, zinc, boron, molybdenum, copper, etc ...
- Stimulates biological activity by providing microbial flora.
- Boost plant growth.
- Facilitates to the plants the availability of nutrients to dissolve insoluble mineral components (phosphates).
-Transform soluble nitrogen into organic nitrogen (in the body of organisms) avoiding drift loss of water or ammonia in the air.
- Preserve and increases the organic matter content.
- Not only replace any chemical fertilizer (lacking bacterial flora) but increase their benefits. The great mistake of modern agriculture has been no planned replace humus, relying exclusively on chemical fertilizers.
- Against other organic fertilizers derived from animal manure, a ton of humus produced by the earthworm is equivalent to ten ton of manure produced by cows, chickens and pigs. Besides handling of manure produced by the animals, nitrogen is lost,  phosphorous is not assimilable  this produce a serious imbalance in the soil.
- It's a manufacture fertiliser with a certification accepted in certified organic farms, making it ideal for all kinds of ecological crops.
-The natural putrefaction, based on the activity of fungi and bacteria, takes at least 20 to 30 years; vermiculture get this process in six months.
-The worm castings ,is used for enrich those lands have become meager by the overuse of chemical fertilizers or intensive farmingr for prolonged periods of time.


Biological:

- The vermicompost assists the formation of mycorrhizae, microorganisms responsible for accelerated root development.
- Involved in promoting various physiological processes in plants such as emerging, flowering, maturity and color of the leaves, flowers and fruits.
- It´s antibiotic action has a positive impact on the resistance of plants to pests and pathogens, as well, to give the plant a full dose of macro and micro nutrients, increases resistance to frost.
- Decreases the environmental impact caused by chemicals.
-The supply of nutrients makes consumption of inorganic fertilizers decline.
- Used in transplanting plants contributes to a decrease in shock, differences of 50% and up to 70% compared to that do not incorporate humus, providing a good root development of roots.
